Leave the bustle of the world behind as you reach Clear Lake's 22 acres on the Hiawatha National Forest. The Center is the only occupant on the shores of the beautiful waters of Clear Lake. This makes it the perfect secluded spot to get in touch with the natural world. Wildlife abounds with loons, wolves, bear, and an abundance of deer.
Currently Clear Lake Education Center is open from late April through October. The programs we offer focus on environmental sciences, cultural history, natural resource careers, personal growth, and team building.
When CLEC is not being used for outdoor education camps, the facilities are available for rent. During the summer and fall, community organizations, churches, scout groups, and families use Clear Lake Education Center for camps, retreats, and meetings. Contact us for availability and rental fees.
A visit to Clear Lake Education Center is a step back in time. The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) built the camp in the late 1930's. The facilities, nestled in a northern hardwoods forest adjacent to Clear Lake, blend a rustic feel with modern conveniences.

MAY 2005: Clear Lake Education Center received the Education Excellence award from the Michigan Association of School Boards.
SEPTEMBER 2005: The Center was awarded the prestigious Michigan's Best award.
Clear Lake's quality programs are made possible through the generosity of our partners, sponsors, and donors.
